Thursday, Friday last days to vote early

Voters still have a couple opportunities to cast their ballots early ahead of Tuesday’s big national election.

The Abington Town Clerk’s Office is hosting early voting at Town Hall. Voters can vote early in person the following times:

The process works just like voting on Election Day. Voters will be checked in poll workers, fill out their ballot, and drop into a ballot box.

Town Clerk Leanne Adams said as of Wednesday nearly 1,700 voters had already opted to vote early. That’s slightly behind the pace in the 2020 election, which was held in the middle of the pandemic.

Voting hours on Election Day, Nov. 5, are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voting for all precincts takes place at the Beaver Brook Elementary School.

In addition to casting votes for President, voters are also choosing representatives to Congress and the State House, as well as county commissioner.

There are also five statewide ballot questions.

The deadline to return mail-in ballots in person or via drop box is Tuesday at 8 p.m. Ballots returned by domestic mail must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 8, and  postmarked by Election Day. Ballots mailed from outside the United States must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15, and postmarked by Election Day.
