Little is still known about the gun-related incident on Linwood Street earlier this week that left investigators collecting shell casings from the roadway.
A spokesman for the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that a deputy with the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigations had been called to Linwood Street to gather evidence following a report of gun shots. He referred all further questions to the Abington Police Department.
However, Abington Police Chief David Majenski did not return messages from the Abington News seeking information about the incident.
According to one media report, Abington police were investigating whether a man who showed up at South Shore Hospital Tuesday afternoon with a gunshot wound was connected to the incident.
Linwood Street starts on Mill Street near the Brockton line and ends at the entrance of Ames Nowell State Park.
