Abington School Committee member Lisa Augusta confirmed Thursday morning she is not seeking a second term.
“It’s been a great experience and I’ve learned so much working alongside some of the most dedicated and hardworking people I’ve ever met,” Augusta said.
Jaclyn Abrams, Augusta’s school committee colleague, announced earlier this week that she had decided not to seek re-election as well.
Heidi Hernandez, of Orange Street, said Thursday she intends to seek one of the two open seats. Nobody else has taken out nomination papers for the second open seat.
To appear on the Town Election ballot, nomination papers – featuring signatures from 50 registered voters – must be turned in to the Abington Town Clerk by March 8 at 5 p.m. Interested candidates could also run as a write-in candidate.
