Coming soon: spring flowers

Volunteers with the Griffin’s Dairy Committee took advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures Wednesday to freshen up the popular park.

The former dairy farm will again be used this spring and summer for a combination of passive recreation and agriculture.

The Community Gardens will again be used by local gardeners and R & C Farms will again be planting a selection of crops.

Voters at Town Meeting will be asked to approve $25,000 in Community Preservation Act money to drill a new well to service the Community Gardens.

Griffin’s Dairy Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Bates (left) and committee member Lurane Ryerson (right) clear fallen limbs from the park.
Committee member Richard Hanna dumping a barrel full of leaves, pine needles, and other materials raked up during Wednesday’s cleanup.

Billy Davis mans a blower to help get Griffins Dairy Farm ready for the spring.
