Jim Kelliher was honored before Friday night’s game for his 500th game as coach of the Abington Green Wave football team. It’s a mark only two other Massachusetts high school football coaches have attained.
Kelliher was joined on the field before the game by family, friends, and former players. He received a commemorative ball from players from his first team, and exchanged a hug with longtime coaching rival (and fellow Abington HS alum) Bob Bancroft.
