ABINGTON CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS 2021 FESTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND
Oh, the bells will be ringing this weekend with a full slate of holiday fun coordinated by Abington Celebrates. The fun kicks off Friday night with the annual Ugly Sweater Ball at the American Legion hall. On Saturday there’s a craft fair at the United Christ of church from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., and at Island Grove from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., visitors can stop by Santa’s Workshop among other activities. The Island Grove Christmas tree will be lit at 6 p.m. Sunday features PupPics with Santa and a concert back at the UCC Abington.
ABINGTON NEWS BOWLING TOURNEY SUNDAY

Sunday is also the Abington News Christmas Ball Classic Bowling Tournament at Webster Timber Lanes. The tournament is open to bowlers of all ages and skill levels. It features two qualifying strings, with the Top 4 advancing to a one string semifinal roll-off. The Top 2 semifinalists then advance to a one string championship round. Winner receives everything needed for a big Christmas dinner spread (courtesy of Trucchis) plus a $200 prize. The event also features a 50/50 raffle. Cost is $25/bowler. DATE CHANGE FOR ABINGTON SUPER BOWL
Abington will now play Rockland in the D6 Super Bowl THIS FRIDAY, not next Monday. The game is still scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Tickets are available only through Ticketmaster.
HS WINTER SPORTS BEGINS
The football team may have one more week to go but it’s the start of the winter sports season for everyone else. Tryouts for the girls basketball team are Monday and Tuesday. For 10th through 12th graders, tryouts are 4 -6 p.m., and 8th and 9th graders it’s 3-4:30 p.m. Winter track & field also starts today at 3 p.m., at the high school cafeteria.
BEAVER BROOK PTO MEETS THURSDAY
The Beaver Brook PTO meets Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Beaver Brook cafeteria. The committee will be discussing upcoming events including the Winter Wonderland & Kids Holiday Shop, the upcoming Amazing Hero Art, and other reminders.

Cultural Council, 7 p.m., Town Hall. Agenda includes votes on grant applications.

Charter Review Commission, 6 p.m., Town Hall. Agenda includes a discussion with town counsel and the town manager, and a review of the Town Charter.
