COACHES:
Varsity– Thomas Carey; JV–Jenny Worden; Varsity Assistant Coach — Paul Preziosi; Team Manager — Tia Phoenix (out for her senior season with an injury)
PROGRAM SIZE:
Varsity: 11 players (5 seniors, 1 junior, 2 sophomores, 3 freshmen)
JV — 15 total players (12 8th graders/3 freshmen)
KEY PLAYERS:
Ella Williamson and Rebecca Rix — both senior co captains and both two year basketball captains as well.
Ella leads on offense (scored her 1,000th point Friday) and Rix leads on defense (team leading 7 charges, rebounding leader). Both have led the way with their play on the court and vocal leadership in practice/games as well. Both have very high basketball IQ’s and have been the two catalysts for the team.
Sophomores Savannah Eriksen and Ava Williamson have shown promise on both ends of the court as well. They both could go off for 10/15 points a night, and at the same time lock down two of the better offensive players on the other team.
Senior Kasie Bailey comes off the bench with solid defensive rebounding and defense. Junior Lacey Brundage is a sharpshooter off the bench and can knock down triples with the best of them.
Seniors Sophia Flanagan and Emily Chimienti provide energy and hustle off the bench. Freshman trio of Madison McDonald, Zoie Maslanka, and Rylee Nowlan have all started at least one game this year, have all had strong first campaigns at the varsity level, and all have very bright futures with the program.

KEY GAMES LEFT:
Next Tuesday at home vs Mashpee is senior night, followed by a game at Hull next week. A big tilt with Cohasset comes up in a couple weeks as well.
WHAT ARE YOU TELLING YOUR TEAM:
I am disappointed with our record thus far this season but very impressed with how hard all the girls play. I have had numerous compliments from league coaches and other outsiders of how scrappy, how much effort our Abington Green Wave girls have put into each game and each practice. They have been fighting through a coaching change weeks before the season, sudden personnel changes, numerous nagging injuries, and they keep on fighting and fighting. Hopefully their continued effort and hard work will pay off with more victories down the final stretch of the season. But either way I know this team will perservere through anything and keep battling on the court no matter the opponent.
