More than 170 items up for auction Thursday for AHS Junior Class

Beauty baskets and sports tickets and gift cards and golf outings and wine bottles and televisions and labubus.

These are just some of the items up on the auction block Thursday night at the annual Abington High Junior Class Auction.

The auction, which largely takes place on the high school side of the middle/high school, runs from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. It is open to the general public.

The event is the biggest fundraiser sponsored by the Abington High School Junior Class every year. It raises thousands of dollars that help underwrite the cost of the junior prom, as well as next year’s homecoming dance.

It’s a combined silent and live auction. For $5 attendees receive a numbered paddle they can use to place bids in both auctions.

The live auction, hosted by Green Wave auctioneer Shawn Reilly, features four front row seats at the Abington High graduation in June, tickets to the Bailey Zimmerman concert at the TD Garden, and  ticket packages to the Red Sox and Bruins, among other items.

The silent auction will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. The live auction will start at 7:45 p.m. Raffle winners will be posted at 8:15 p.m.

The Junior Class Officers are Vangie McCleary, President; Laney Bergman, Vice-President; Jack Reilly, Treasurer; Zoie Maslanka, Secretary

The Class Advisor is Kate Ward and Frank Cormos.
