Let me start by thanking those who made it possible to enter this race by signing my nomination papers and continuing to support my endeavor. Also I’d like to recognize Rick Collins for continuing to run this piece for not only the candidates but also to allow you the voter to get to know us.
So now I will tell you all a little about myself. I moved to Abington in August 2018 and we have never looked back. We actually decided to buy our forever home in Abington instead of moving to another community. The community welcomed us and I immediately became involved by applying for and being appointed to the Park and Recreation Commission , a seat in which I held until last year. I have also served as a sewer commissioner and a volunteer at Griffin’ Dairy. I also currently serve as Chairman of the Abington Water Commission. A position which I’ve been honored to hold during the PFAS mitigation project. I didn’t give during some very difficult times regarding your water and I won’t give up on you as a selectman.
I am a father, husband, and grandfather. My four sons are my greatest accomplishments for sure. Two of my sons are students in the Abington School System one at Woodsdale and the other at the Middle School. Both are also active in youth sports in town. My two adult sons both reside in a nearby community. I have been married to my wife Linda for 16 years on March 27th. I have back ground in business management and public safety. I currently hold the position of Emergency Operations Lieutenant in a neighboring community.
We as neighbors and voters are about to embark on some very difficult fiscal times and will certainly have to make some difficult decisions on how to move Abington forward. You’ll never hear me say I or me when it comes Abington but what you will hear is WE as I will be representing you the residents and not any local political committee or party. I like you know how difficult it is to make ends meet and will always look at opportunities for grants and other potential revenue streams. I mentioned my concerns about our financial shortfalls during my last campaign. Our shortfall has much to do with frivolous spending at the state level and the end of Covid recovery revenues no longer being funded. We at the local level are now left to bear the brunt of this crisis.
What we need is common sense leadership and a STRONG voice for the residents and an advocate for our employees as well. The well being of Abington depends on it. We are in this together. If anyone has questions please reach out. I’d like to thank you for giving me your time as I introduced myself.
