The Ames Nowell Master Plan Committee will meet via Zoom on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m.
Anyone interested in watching the meeting can join by using meeting ID 785 1648 3390 and passcode GbTRt9
The committee has been charged by the Abington Board of Selectmen with identifying short and long-term operational and capital needs for the 700-acre state park on the town’s western border. The master plan would then be used by the town to advocate for additional state investment in the park, which has been plagued in recent years by a lack of staffing and upkeep.
The committee Thursday will discuss a working draft of the master plan and next steps needed in order to finalize it. It will also provide an update on current park conditions.
Last year, the committee organized a pair of park cleanups. This year’s clean-up was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
