Abington Public Schools Friday morning released details on this year’s “Virtual Academy” for families who are choosing at-home learning this school year.
The 11-page document starts to answer some of the questions parents have had. For example, the program will be led by Abington teachers, students will be expected to follow traditional school hours, attendance will be taken, and class work will be graded.
The Abington School Committee voted in July to adopt a hybrid model for the school year. Students have been split up in two groups, with the “Green” cohort attending classes in person Monday and Tuesday and the “Wave” cohort attending classes in person Thursday and Friday. The days the cohorts aren’t in class they will be learning remotely.
