PLANNING BOARD TONIGHT REVIEWING FOURTH RETAIL CANNABIS SHOP

In case you missed the article, CannaBarn would take over the retail space at 678 Adams Street currently occupied by Wayne’s Sleep Shop.

LIST OF TOWN ELECTION CANDIDATES CONTINUE TO GROW

There are now five residents interested in the three Board of Health seats on the ballot this spring. Katie VanNest, of Colonial Road, has taken out papers, joining incumbent Aaron Christian, of High Street, Jami Pinola, of Loganberry DriveNiccole Emery, of Jean Carol Road, and Clay Kelly, also of Jean Carol Road.

In addition, school committee member Danielle Grafton has also taken out nomination papers for re-election. She joins Pond Street resident Nicole Emery.

Gerard Hass, of West Street, Carolyn Murray, of High Street, and Laura Brink, of Hancock Street, have each taken out papers or the Library Board of Trustees; Kevin DiMarzio, of Orange Street, for Board of Selectmen; Wayne Crothers, of Shaw Avenue, for Housing Authority; and Ann Welch, of Highland Road, for Board of Assessors  Anyone interested in running needs to submit the signatures of 50 registered Abington voters by Monday, March 14, at 5 p.m.

MONDAY

Planning Board, 6 p.m., Town Hall. Agenda includes discussions about a new cannabis shop at 678 Adams Street, 89 Robbins Ave., 113 Ashland Street, and 275 Groveland Street, and possible zoning amendments around battery storage units and expanding a marijuana zoning district.

Board of Health, 6 p.m., via Zoom. Agenda includes discussions about board and audience conduct, a return to in-person meetings, COVID-19 safety measures, and body art regulations.

TUESDAY

Community Preservation Commission, 7 p.m., via Zoom. Agenda includes a review of projects for FY 23

WEDNESDAY

Finance Committee, 7 p.m., via Zoom. Agenda includes discussions about the FY 23 budgets for Abington Community Media Access, the Town Accountant, and the Town Manager.

THURSDAY

Charter Review Commission, 6 p.m., Town Hall. Agenda includes a review of  the town charter, and a discussion about a town survey.

Zoning Board of Appeals, 7 p.m., Town Hall. Agenda includes dicussions about 75 Dale Street, 75 Niles Street, 700 Brockton Avenue, 35 Rice Street, and the new MBTA multi-family zoning mandate.
