An Abington man has been found guilty of multiple child rape and sexual assault crimes in Plymouth County Superior Court, according to District Attorney Tim Cruz.
Scott McCaffrey, 56, was convicted Wednesday of five counts of aggravated rape of a child, four counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and one count each of dissemination of harmful matter to a minor and lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct.
A female victim contacted the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office in January 2020 to report she had been sexually assaulted on numerous occasions by McCaffrey in 2014 and 2015. Following an investigation by Abington Police, McCaffrey was indicted and tracked to an address in Florida where he was arrested by local police in June 2020.
McCaffrey will be sentenced on June 7.
