AMES NOWELL COMMITTEE PRESENTS PLAN TO SELECTMEN MONDAY
The group charged with coming up with short and long-term improvements for Ames Nowell State Park will present their draft report to the Board of Selectmen on Monday night. The committee started meeting back in 2018, paused during the height of the COVID academic, and are in the process of finishing up their work. The presentation includes suggestions on how to improve public safety at the park, make it a nicer experience for visitors, and some short-and long-term capital investments. While the town has little direct control over what happens at the state-owned and managed park, it can lobby the Department of Conservation and Recreation for improvements and other activities. END OF YEAR NOTES FOR SENIORS
Thursday – amazingly, stunningly, crazily, sadly — is the final day this year’s senior class ever has to spend inside in Abington classroom. Seniors must return their laptops, chargers, and cases on Tuesday, May 24, during their lunch period. Students who do not return their laptop, charger, or case will be charged a $400 replacement fee for the laptop, $39 fee for the charger, and $25 fee for the case. The annual Senior Class Barbecue is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m., at Reilly Field.
