KEYS TO SUCCESS THIS SEASON:

Strong senior leadership with good contributions from the underclassmen and strong performances from Nick Harris in goal will be critical for the 2024 Abington Lacrosse team to make a deep run.

A strong schedule this season will make sure Abington is battle-tested when entering the tournament by playing strong opponents from the league, such as Norwell (last year’s D3 champ), Cohasset (last year’s D4 champ), Sandwich (last year’s D4 runner-up) and strong out-of-league games (Plymouth South, Nantucket, Hanover, W-H).

WHAT’S HELPED TURN ABINGTON INTO A STRONG HS LACROSSE PROGRAM?:

A strong youth program that started years ago with Nils and Susanne Djusberg, which I continued coaching and directing for over a decade. It kept these core athletes together and legitimized the sport of lacrosse in our small town. Simply stated, we convinced some of the best athletes in town to play this fun game at a young age (Hunter, Ian, Jonny, Prewitt have been playing lacrosse since they were five).

NOTES:

Grafton scored his 300th career point during the season opening win; he is believed to be the only Abington lacrosse player to reach that mark. Then in Thursday’s 19-6 win over Maspee, Grafton netted his 200th career goal.
