Green Wave teams get spring tourney dates

It was a good spring season for Green Wave athletics as every MIAA tournament eligible team made the playoffs.

Athletic Director Peter Serino said school officials are “extremely proud” of the Green Wave student-athletes.

“To have each of our team sports eligible for the MIAA tournament qualify speaks to the commitment and dedication of the students and the coaches,” Serino said.

“We are fortunate that there is a culture of success that values athletics here in Abington.  The kids and coaches put in a lot of work not just during the season but year round and qualifying for the tournament validates those efforts.”

The Green Wave softball team finished as Abington’s top-seeded team, riding an outstanding 19-1 record to the #5 seed in the Division 4 tourney. The South Shore League Tobin Division champs will host the winner of the preliminary game between Minuteman Regional & Cristo Rey Boston at a date and time to be determined.
