Abington’s Blackbeard signing new book at Trucchi’s on Sunday

Special To Abington News

Trucchi’s Supermarkets is pleased to announce a book-signing event at the Abington 858 Bedford St. location.

On Sunday, June 2, Abington author Mike Carini will be on hand from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. to sign his first book, “Tyler Madison and the Secret of Washington’s Treasure.”

Mike Carini, known locally as Blackbeard, has taken on many challenges in his 46 years: he manages the family business,  Blackbeard, Inc., has been a world champion sport karate fighter, an Abington Police sergeant, and is now a published author.

“Having been an avid reader I found it natural to take up writing as a hobby,” he said. “With some gentle prodding from my daughter Madison Carini to finish and the guidance from fellow local author LJ Vickery, we were able to complete the book after four years of part time writing.”

When not hanging with his kids or searching for the next amazing piece for his personal collection of cool antiques you can find him working hard on his next book.

“It was a complete surprise to find us picked for the top five indie books for the week on Barnes and Noble and ranked #1 in the teen young adult categories on Amazon,” said Carini. “I especially didn’t expect to see it on the bookshelf at Barnes and Noble (in) Hingham.”

In the book “Tyler Madison and the Secret of Washington’s Treasure”,  the hero, along with his closest friends, embark on an epic adventure when Tyler’s grandfather, the ex- President, leaves him a pocket watch upon his death. Tyler soon finds that the gift is not just any watch; the precious artifact has passed through every commander-in-chief’s hands since John Adams. The secret with which Tyler has been entrusted is so fraught with peril, only presidents have known about it. Why then has Tyler’s grandfather bypassed the new POTUS, instead trusting it to Tyler?

While attempting to solve this mystery, Tyler and his friends will break into the White House, open the door to an ancient secret society, and unearth the buried truth about George Washington. Was the legendary man a hero, or something far more sinister?

Hometown Author Mike Carini is looking forward to having his very first book signing at Trucchi’s — Abington’s hometown store.

Copies of “Tyler Madison and the Secret of Washington’s Treasure” will be available for purchase at Trucchi’s during the event.
